This update contains 17 significant changes, 1 dose change, 3 classification changes, 3 new monographs, 3 new preparations and 4 deleted preparations.

Significant changes

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: updated guidance on the use of dupilumab.

Conjugated oestrogens: contra-indications, cautions, and hepatic impairment information reviewed.

Diphtheria with tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis and haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine: name change to diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, and haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine.

Estradiol (Estring®): indication changed from postmenopausal urogenital conditions (not suitable for vasomotor symptoms or osteoporosis prophylaxis) to genitourinary symptoms of menopause in perimenopausal, menopausal, and postmenopausal females.

Estradiol: indication changed from vaginal atrophy in postmenopausal women to genitourinary symptoms of menopause in perimenopausal, menopausal, and postmenopausal females; contra-indications, cautions, and hepatic impairment information reviewed.

Estriol: indication changed from vaginal atrophy in postmenopausal women to genitourinary symptoms of menopause in perimenopausal, menopausal, and postmenopausal females; contra-indications, cautions, and hepatic impairment information reviewed.

European viper snake venom antiserum: name change to european viper snake venom antisera.

Herpes-zoster vaccine (recombinant, adjuvanted): name change to herpes-zoster vaccine.

Menopause: new guidance on the management of menopause.

Mepolizumab: new indication and dose for uncontrolled chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis, and hypereosinophilic syndrome.

Ospemifene: indication changed from moderate to severe symptomatic vulvar and vaginal atrophy [in post-menopausal women who are not candidates for local vaginal oestrogen therapy] to genitourinary symptoms of menopause in perimenopausal, menopausal, and postmenopausal females.

Prasterone: indication changed from vulvar and vaginal atrophy [in postmenopausal women with moderate to severe symptoms] to genitourinary symptoms of menopause in perimenopausal, menopausal, and postmenopausal females; contra-indications and cautions reviewed.

Sex hormones: this treatment summary has been replaced by the new Menopause treatment summary.

Tranexamic acid: new important safety information on serious adverse effects due to administration errors.

Urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse in females: updated guidance on use of vaginal oestrogens.

Vaginal and vulval conditions: updated guidance on use of vaginal oestrogens.

Varicella-zoster vaccine: name change to varicella vaccine.

Dose changes

Vitamins A, C and D [update to age range].

Classification changes

Benralizumab [primary classification changed to Interleukin inhibitors].

Mepolizumab [primary classification changed to Interleukin inhibitors].

Reslizumab [primary classification changed to Interleukin inhibitors].
