BNF + BNFC consultations

Consultations are a valuable step in the development of BNF and BNFC content. Health professionals, interested groups, and other users of BNF and BNFC are welcome to comment on and contribute to draft content.

Occasionally, BNF and BNFC users are invited to provide feedback to help inform future developments of BNF and BNFC content.

The final draft version of new, updated, and revised BNF and BNFC content is periodically displayed on this page for open review. This draft content has been validated against emerging evidence, best-practice guidelines, and advice from a network of clinical experts. It is subsequently presented to our expert committee for appraisal against matters of policy and other considerations in light of new evidence.

Invitations for feedback to inform future developments of BNF and BNFC content are also periodically displayed on this page.

Consultations will usually be available to view for a period of 2 weeks; replies must be received before midnight on the closing date specified in the documentation.

Current consultations for BNF

Paediatric medicines information in BNF

We are inviting health professionals, interested groups, and other users of BNF content in the UK, particularly those who work with children and adolescents, to participate in a survey to explore when and why users access BNF, rather than BNFC, for paediatric medicines information. The results of this survey will help us understand the possible impact of removing the subset of paediatric content that is currently included in BNF, and directing users to access BNFC for a full view of paediatric content.

Consultation comments
