Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference December 2024 Update

This update contains 8 new monographs and 29 existing monographs have been updated. Preparations have also been updated for 5 countries.

New Monographs

  • Durlobactam is a non-beta lactam, beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is given with sulbactam in the treatment of hospital-acquired pneumonia, including ventilator-associated pneumonia.
  • Leniolisib is a selective phosphoinositide-3 kinase (PI3K) δ inhibitor used for the treatment of activated PI3Kδ syndrome (APDS).
  • Maralixibat is a reversible selective inhibitor of the ileal bile acid transporter. It is used for the treatment of cholestatic pruritus associated with either Alagille syndrome or progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis.
  • Palovarotene is a retinoid used to reduce further heterotopic ossification in adults and children with fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.
  • Pegunigalsidase alfa is a recombinant form of alpha galactosidase A. It is used as enzyme replacement therapy in the treatment of Fabry disease.
  • Relebactam is a non-beta-lactam, beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is given as a fixed-dose combination preparation with cilastatin and imipenem in the treatment of infections where beta-lactamase production is suspected.
  • Rezafungin is an echinocandin antifungal used in the treatment of candidaemia and invasive candidiasis.
  • Rozanolixizumab is a humanised IgG4 monoclonal antibody that binds to the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn). It is used for the treatment of generalised myasthenia gravis in adults who have antibodies for either the acetylcholine receptor (AChR) or muscle-specific tyrosine kinase (MuSK).
